Sandro Mikautadze

Bio

I am Italian, and, according to trust-me-bro science, also Georgian.

I decided to study AI in 2019 and wrote my first lines of code at 12. These days, thanks to AI, I mostly feel dumb.

I am currently pursuing a Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Visual Computing at École Polytechnique, with coursework spanning deep learning, computer vision, reinforcement learning, and their applications in 3D graphics, virtual and augmented reality, generative AI, autonomous driving, and robotics.

Before that, I completed a Bachelor's degree in Mathematical and Computing Sciences for Artificial Intelligence at Bocconi University, which gave me a rigorous grounding in mathematics and computer science alongside physics, neuroscience, and economics.

Work

My research interests currently sit along two axes, vision modality and model interpretability. The application layer that excites me most is still to be determined, but I am, generally, a very curious person.

News

Apr 2026 - Joined Doctolib as a research intern, working on interpretability of medical vision-language models.
Sept 2025 - Published the first review of Bocconi's AI degree (BAI). It has since been read by 100+ students.
May 2025 - We built a news digest from personal curated sources (demo video) for the Tech:Europe hackathon.
May 2025 - Guest speaker at my ex-high school to talk on AI (400+ students). The video is on YouTube at this link.
March 2025 - Joining Dassault Systèmes for a research internship. First job unlocked.
March 2025 - Just wrapped up the AI Startup School organized by EF. Eye-opening!
Jan 2025 - Just completed my first hackathon (Mistral AI Game Jam). We reached the final and finished 2nd at the Community Award!

Hobbies

Outside of work I follow football (forza Inter!), used to act (five years of it), edit videos well enough to make my entire high school class cry, real tears, play the ukulele, and own more Yes Theory merchandise than any sponsorship deal would justify.
